Challenges to Technology Implementation (NECC 2005)
After discussing the challenges you identified with a partner, choose the one challenge and post it here. Don't forget to include the possible causes of this challenge.
Teachers who are uncomfortable with using technology in their classroom. Reasons: 1} Limited usage of and exposure to technolgoy beyond school day. 2} Lack of time to id technology resouces.
I am at the district level as an IS consultant for technology implementation. My challenge is convincing the executive directors and the school board to fund new projects that support the curriculum especially if they require new technology
Very hard to get teachers to buy into using technology in the classroom because they (as "old school" natives) see technology as enabling students to be "lazy". They don't "earn" or have to "work (as) hard" to learn.
Lack of phsical space in a classroom causes teachers to be resistant to using technology as well as the fact that not all students have access to technology.

Administrative structure and orgainzation - aint nobodys responsibility.
We have the hardware, but no PLAN for implementation
Why? We are a "high performing" district that has no motivation or need to change anything in what we do. Are scores are good so leave us alone....
